Tipwilliam SEO is run by Simon Cour-Palais. Simon is a former accountant and marketer who was an early adopter of the Internet in the mid 1990s and became very interested in the possibilities that it had to offer. By the end of that decade he was running a successful web design company alongside his accountancy practice, but as the years went on he began to wind down his accountancy work in favour of his involvement in the Internet and of all the increasing avenues of opportunity that it was beginning to open up to individuals and businesses.
In the early 2000s Simon began to become increasingly curious about how to get a website to the top of the search engine results pages, and this interest was first brought about by his web design clients who repeatedly asked him if he could help them to get more visibility for their new sites. By this time more and more people were getting computers and going online and so Simon became expert in the factors which went into obtaining a high ranking on Google (which had first come into being only a very few years earlier and was beginning to become the search engine to which the majority would go for information).
As Google and the other search engines evolved and became more sophisticated the SEO industry evolved with it and Simon kept up to date with all the changes. Over the years he has worked extensively as a search consultant and been responsible for getting many businesses to the top of the search engine rankings and keeping them there.
Tipwilliam SEO was born in 2014 as part of Simon’s genuine concern with helping the owners of small and medium sized businesses to attain more local visibility for their websites on the Internet. He’s aware of how many incorrectly believe that they can’t compete with all the hundreds of other sites in their area when in fact the opposite is true. He and his team are friendly and approachable and are committed to improving the ability of his clients to gaining more customers and thus becoming more successful.
Where does the name “Tipwilliam” come from?
Ah that’s an interesting question. William was Simon’s partner and Tip was his dog. Neither, alas, are with us anymore but Simon wanted to put the two names together so that he’d still have both of them with him in a way. Soppy eh? But Simon’s happy with the name and so “Tipwilliam” it is.
We’re not going to show you a picture of William as he’s no longer around to give his permission, but this is Tip who was Simon’s much-loved companion for many years. In time he’s sure he’ll get another dog (but not just yet).
